Diethylstilbestrol or stilboestrol as it is also known as is a synthetic oestrogen (natural oestrogen is the primary female sex hormones). This medication is used to treat enlarged prostate glands found in male dogs and to treat forms of aggression in female dogs. It can also be prescribed to treat urinary incontinence.

All medicines have potential side effects but this does not mean your pet has a high risk of experiencing them. If you notice anything unusual contact your vet immediately.

Possible drug interactions

Ensure your vet is aware of any other medication you are giving your pet. Drug interaction is not uncommon when two differing medications are prescribed.
